Hi guys, i am trying to wrap text along the contours of a ribbon/banner while maintaining the height of text at maybe 0.25" across the length of the ribbon. The banner has its high points and low points and curves. I know this should be easy but jus cant figure it out. Any ideas / suggestions?

Shawn,

Draw a curve that you want the text to follow

Create your text

Use the "Wrap text along a curve tool" to place the text on the curve

Adjust text size and position

Select the text and open the V-Carve toolpath menu. Select the options you want and at the bottom of the menu check the box that says "Project toolpath onto 3D model".

Now preview all toolpaths (both 3D and your text v-carve) and you should see your text on the 3D surface

To get the letters raised you position them into the vectors of the banner as Tim says and after you are happy with the layout click on the Create Shape modeling tool, select the flat plane, enter .25 into the Base Height box, and then click Add to have them applied to the face of the 3-d banner. His method of tooling will cut them into the banner along the curve and elevation of the banner, so now you have how to do them cut in and raised.
