I need to cut a 6' x 26" Corian countertop on a ShopBot PRT with the standard Porter Cable router. There's no room for error since I only have this one piece available. Any recommendations for Tool size/flute/geometry and speed/feed would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I use an o-flute for this. Best feed/speed for me (PRT-Spindle) tends to be around 1.25-1.5/sec at 8-10k. Depending on work will use either 1/4" or 3/8" bit. Corian actually cuts pretty easy.

Thanks Dave,

I have some Onsrud O-Flutes (1 and 2 flute) and my Porter Cable router will slow to 10,000 RPM. Would you recommend the full 1/2" depth-of-cut or several smaller passes?

Appreciatively,

I take it conservative on this and do two passes to a skin and then cut the skin if the parts are small and 2 passes if they are big.
