To bad it's a 400 mile one-way diagonal trip across the state. I would love to go but will have to see how the business is doing at that time.

I had back surgery about 2 weeks ago. The doctor says I can't work in the shop for a minimum of 8 weeks. The shop is still available for the upcoming camp. I should be walking on my own by then. I look forward to hosting all who come this year.

We've got a little less than a month to go, so we're asking those of you who plan to attend this Camp to please drop us a note in the very near future which will allow us to have enough chairs, supplies, food, etc.
You can also use the interim time to let us know what you'd like to have covered at this year's edition of the NW Camp...Thanks !
PS- Dan, just let the thermometer be your guide on this one......

The Camp date is closing in on us, so it's time for me to try and nag the fence sitters off their posts to let us know if you plan to attend. We have over 50 people signed on for this Camp already so we NEED to know the final number(s) for supplies. Please drop us a note in the next week.
And for those of you who have already contacted us, you've got a few weeks left to get something ready for "Show and Tell". With this many people we may be doing more "showing", than "telling", but we'll try to make sure everyone gets a chance let us know what they are doing with their machine...

Okay, I am not a fence sitter!!!!! I have already made my motel reservations!!!!!!!!!!! I really had a good time last year!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are any of you getting together Friday night like last year? I have to work until 7 but I could meet after that.

Mike,
I'm getting into town a bit later than last year, and since we're anticipating a larger group ( 60 signed on so far...)I have a bunch of stuff to get together Friday afternoon which may make the schedule a little tight. With that in mind it looks like there will be a number of people from out of the area so there should be more than a few people in town tomorrow evening and possibly you can use the Forum to try and put something together. I'll be in transit much of the morning/early afternoon and probably won't be in touch until I land and get to David's shop to set up chairs, etc.

Thank you Dave, Bill and ShopBot. I had a good time and learned a little bit more. It was great seeing so many fellow botters. The 'show and tell' is one of my favorite parts and I was not disapointed. Great stuff! Russ

That was my first exposure to a CampShopBot event. And it was great! I value the insights about techniques, and inputs about things like materials, finishes, model/mold-making, etc. But for me, it was even more valuable as an eye-opener to the world of possibilities inherent in there being such a thing as affordable CNC technology.

Kudos all around. And thanks Dave, Bill and ShopBot for putting this on!

Thank you all for attending. I had a great time meeting some of you for the first time, and also getting together again with those I met at last years camp. The conversations I and my family had with you were enjoyable and informative. Bill's wealth of information and experience was very helpfull. It's alway a pleasure to hear about and see what others are doing with their ShopBots.
Thank you Bill and ShopBot for your continuing support and interest to those of us in the Northwest corner of the map.

Well I hate to say it but I am plenty mad not to be able to post the first "Thank You" for the camp!! I drove like a mad man to get home and find out too many botters have beat me to it! I want to thank you all for the very enjoyable meeting, and of course all that put the effort into making it possible. A lot of information is shared at these camps. They certainly are worth the trip to meet everyone that shares a common interest!!!! Thanks again!!!!

Let me add MY thank you's to everyone who attended the Camp. We had a large, active group on hand, and we filled the day with presentations, and some really good "Show and Tell" pieces.
I've included some pictures on the Camp blog page which is at;

Thanks again to Dave Chase for hosting this one !

David, can you tell me what software you're using to interface that XBox controller to your 'bot? I missed that detail when you were discussing it.

Thanks!

Gene, The Xbox controller mapping software I use is Pinnacle.
Here is the link to them: http://pinnaclegameprofiler.com/
I can also send you the mapping file I created for the ShopBot, when your ready.
It was good to see you at the camp.

Thanks David! I'll get that and the xbox controller ordered today. I'd love to get the configuration file from you.

BTW, I love the "2nd floor" you did in your shop - I think over the winter I may add a couple of those to the interior of mine to increase storage space.

I'm a newbie, a small manufacturer who is now contracting out the CNC part of my production. I am thinking of bringing this in house. I will bring a couple of my parts with me to get advice. I look forward to meeting all you ShopBotters on Saturday.
