blank is 1.8 inches thick... double sided cut... deepest cut will be profile at 1.8".. i got onsrud 57-910 down-cut bit and Buddy PRStandard with spindle... to get 1.8" will put bit in collet 1/2 inch... is this OK... or is there another way?

You need to invest in a bit with a 2" cutting depth. Using that bit only partially chucked in is dangerous at worst and will likely give you a sloppy cut anyway.
For cutout purposes of thick hardwood like that I would prefer a larger diameter bit.

If it is a 2 sided cut and the material is only 1.8" thick then shouldn't your maximum cut depth be just slightly over (1.8/2)=0.9"?

I thought about cuttin profile half from each side... and leaving a 1/4 inch or so in middle to bandsaw off. For some reason i thought i wood find a .25 end mill with 2" cut. Videos i been watching looks like they are .25 inch.... i can't really tell for sure. I orderred .5 dia end mill with 2 inch cut and an overall length of 4" to do what i want for reasonable price from link provided above.

thanks all

I've cut 50mm thick blanks with a 6mm endmill (18mm CED) no problem and with good edge cut. If you take it slow you will be ok.
