Does .25 inch bit 57-910 running at 12000 rpm's .25 inch depth and .5 inch ramp and 3.75 ipm sound reasonable. I notice my setup will run much faster as in 13000 to 18000 rpm's. By the touch test, my spindle runs smoother at 18000 (max) than 12000.
Any thoughts or suggestions about these parameters?
What material are you cutting

oh yeah... guess that wood be inpotant. Clear pine, aspen and walnut.... all three cut nicely. I started with the pine and progressed to the harder woods.

At 3.75 IPM you are gonna spend a lot of time watching the machine. for that bit and speed I would be using 120 ipm, and most of the guys here would tell you that is a bit on the conservative side.
