Something that you should do when designing patterns is keep in mind the bit size, and other tools that are needed.
For example. Designing my pistol. I had to allow for the bit plus I had to allow for the round over bits guide bearing. Which is what I designed all the curves and indentations to fit on this pattern.
Sometimes the bit is smaller than what is required of other tools, so always design for the larges tool needed.
