Gee, sweeps and extrusions can take a while to learn!
This is my tribute to Hamilton "Buzz" Ware, early Village of Arden artist. His small woodcut print, "Arden Dogwood" was worth a bigger stage in our newly renovated community library.
The relief of my carving is .625",but I couldn't resist finishing it with chisels, to avoid sanding. I use spanish cedar, and finished it in shellac, using colored powder stains in suspension, with a 'sort-of' french polish technique. (from my roots as an antique restorer) Top coated with satin poly.
