Howdy-

I was going to post this under the discussion about home-brewing a drill head, but I figured it should go here.

I found a nice little relay board for the shopbot:

I have the 24v version for my PRS, and it works great. It is $55.

thanks,
Howie

Hi Michael-

I would have the board switch a dedicated contactor/relay for any high-amp loads. The SB already has a contactor for controlling the router...not sure why you would need to add anything to do that. If you are referring to having the software control the start button, then this would work fine.

I purchased an additional relay board from ShopBot for the addition of things like:

Vacuum switches (divide my vocuum holddown into different zones and turn them on and off as necessary)

Dust collector

Flashing light in my house/office when the machine has completed an operation.

lots of things to make life easier...

Ed Lang's newest column is about the relay board and how he uses it...

The SB relay board looks interesting. I don't see it listed on the pricelist or website, and though I'm sure a quick call would give me the pricing, maybe Bill or Ed or Bob could post the cost of the relay board here in this thread???

Thanks in advance for any info.

I am not sure of the current pricing so please call ShopBot for it.

I must say that the board is really doing a great job for me here.
