I have a request to make displays for a customer out of some type of HD cardboard. Has anyone ever done a project such as this? If so who was the supplier and how thick was the material you used?

Hey Steve, yes, but not corrigated. The client spec'ed for a 'green' project, no land fill impact.

I think this is recycled cardboard. the company is into green and recycled products. so i think all of their displays are made from this cardboard. but this is the only way I think to get thickness. the corrugation's are on edge. the company uses that to show off the displays.

Jim,
I have used a product called "Bioboard". I laminated one side and put backer on the other. (must use water base glue) It is very rigid and light.

Here is a link...

You can purchase thru Laird Plastic.

Good Luck

that looks like what I cut. a downcut works well but it is harder to cut through the bottom layer. I have been thinking of trying a straight cut but you want a nice fresh bit.

Steve,

Where did you acquire that cardboard with the two clean faces 1/2" thick? I can't determine if boothster sells the material or just the finished product.

Thanks,

-Patrick

i know they had trouble getting it in less then unit quantities. it was not cheap either I think he was paying 50.0 a sheet or more but I don't remember for sure.

I know of a shop that has over a pallet quantity of 3/4, 1/2 and other of this type of material that they are not using and would love to get rid of but not for free. I did a large (really large) display job with it. It is white, flame retardant.

If you are interested, let me know and I will put you in touch. The shop is on the West Coast, Bay Area.

btw, compression bits work well for a clean cut on upper and lower surfaces.
