anyone replace the brushes on their black box motors?

I use 220v amtek motors as they run quieter then the ones others use but I just started smelling that hot motor smell that I have smelled way too much. I had two sets of brushes on hand to test as I think they were 5 or 10 a set. not hard to replace them you jsut pop the plastic cap off then remove two screws. the wire is on a strip pushed into the brush housing you have to stick a flat screwdriver in there and pry it out. then just push it in the new one put the screws back on and snap the cap back on. now to see how long they will keep running.

it was gone right away and they are running normally. I was able to change the brushes as soon as the small started so that may have helped too.

Good news!!! I would have thought it was too late once the smell starts.
