My Siemens mag starter is for all intent DEAD!
Do i really need this starter?
I will say that all of this is powerd by a three phaze conveter.
I have had the out put of that converter checked twice and both times it was putting out, at or better than the spec volt and amps

Magnetic starters are much safer than simple switches. When a power outage occurs the circuit stays off until the button is pushed again. With a simple switch, the circuit returns to its previous state when power returns - meaning that the device could start unexpectedly after a power outage. Many starters have additional circuitry to protect the device (slow start, etc.). That's why they cost many times more than a simple switch.

Mike thanks for the input, I had been told that this blower would run on a simple switch. i will more than likely have an electriton look at it.
