I'm bidding on a job that will require milling of a slot into a small part with sub-mm accuracy (using a 0.030" diamond bit). Thought is to mill a hold down fixture from UMHW to hold 10 or so parts (with vacuum hold down for each) and do them in batch. But how to accurately zero / align the hold down fixture to the table? Batches will likely be run on a monthly basis.

Put aluminum blocks on the 0,0 corner and run a touch-off routine that will zero the table to where ever you put the pallet. Some people here use this method instead of proximity sensors.

What not use two locating pins on the fixture and two sleeves in the table? https://reidecom.reidtool.com/xephr/edit/CATEGORY?query=*START_WITH_ID=4446
The only problem I can see is when you surface your table. Maybe you could get plastic sleeves instead of steel?
