Puckering Spoil Board?

Anyone ever have their spoilboard curl up at all 4 corners? I was trying to surface my spoilboard (1/2" MDF made in canada) and right as it got to the last 2 inches it pulled away from the vacuum table and puckered at all 4 corners. Needless to say destroying the corner and cutting deep along one side?

Sounds like you had a badly acclimatized hunk of mdf or not enough vacuum. I've found that for that first surface cut (assuming you're going to flip it and do a pass on the other side) some mechanical fasteners will go a long way. I also always do my surfacing from the outside in.
