Has anyone V-carved extira

Just received a sheet of extira for a V-carved sign. Sure looks like this stuff will fuss up. Any feedback appreciated.

We havnt done any artistic V carving, but have done a job with a simulated V groove plank design in the doors. Yes, like all mdf, Extira fuzzes up like crazy. Heavy coat of primer, sand and all comes out. Joe Crumley has some good methods explained in a thread in the sign making section.
