Hi Guys -

I know one of you will have this off of the top of your head... I have been asked to cut some lettes out of 1/2" and 3/4" PVC. I will need to use a 1/8" and 1/4" cutter. WHat is a good speed for those with those material thicknesses?

TIA,

MArk

Actually, if you can give me for both materials? The guy making the request has another job using the sign foam later.

Thanks

Mark..
SignFoam: .5 to 1.5 with the 1/8" bit depending on your stepdown
1ips to 2 with the 1/4"

Solid PVC: 1 ips to 2 with a 1/4" single O flute, .25+ stepdown, .010" clearance pass. 10K-12K RPM
I do not have any data on the 1/8" bit for the solid material.
Hope this helps, Gary

Thanks Gary....

That give me what I need and a good starting spot.

mark, I like the cut properties of a super O flute for plastics including PVC. The good news is there are 3/16" dia bits that have sufficient cut length to get thru thicker stock than the 1/2" depth of normal 1/8" so corners and details are slightly sharper than with a 1/4".
