The manual suggests mounting the Z-Zero plate holster on the side of the spindle. Has anyone done this? My concern would be vibration and unnecessary noise and the holster eventually coming loose from all the vibration, although it sure seems like a convenient place to put the holster.

Zeke

Mines mounted on the Z extrusion and I dont here any noise and the 3M VHB tape it's not going anywhere in your lifetime.

So stick and forget it.

I mounted my Z on the side of the spindle .After 2 years there is no noise, vibration or anything coming loose. There is acutally little or no vibration from the spindle.
As Angus said,"stick it and forget it".

If you have noticable vibration I would get it checked out.

Hi Zeke..... I mounted mine near the home corner on the front of the machine's frame. This works very good, I felt the Z axis was busy enough without adding to it.

I seperated it from the probe cable, and routed the remainding cable into the control box, this way if I ever use the probe, the connector is where it should be at the Y e-chain/ Z axis location.
