does anyone know a quick way to find similar comand lines in a program? Say you are looking for all the lines where the value for z is -1.5
as in M3,6.5,1,-1.5
I am trying to eliminate unnesessary z plunges in a Mill wizard 3D file.

ShopBot comes with an editor that works well. Instead of inputing FP when you go to run the file input FE and it will open the file in the SB editor. Just use the find and replace function under Tools. There are a number of editors out there. Crimson Editor http://www.crimsoneditor.com/, it's freeware.

Hey Tim,

If you're feeling adventuresome there's a program in ShopBot Labs called the File Modifier that was designed to do just that...modify files based on X, Y, or Z values. You can change the values, add a command before or after that line, delete that line, and a whole bunch of other things.

I have somewhat low confidence in this one because there are so many options and so many ways that it can go wrong, but it's worked for all the options that I've tried so far. Like all the utilities it doesn't overwrite your original file but creates a new file so you're not stuck if it doesn't work.

If you try it out, let me know how it works.
