There are some books on the Thermwood site (www.thermwood.com (http://www.thermwood.com) - books and multimedia) that can be freely downloaded that discuss furniture making using a CNC router compared to using traditional methods. There's a lot of good material (and very little Thermwood promotion for their own machines).

The books helped me realize that I've been thinking too narrowly on the uses for which I'm using the Alpha. In any case, the books are free, an easy read, and enlightening.

If you do nothing else today, download the first book from the site on the above post,'The Furniture Fabrication Factory' and read Chapter 1.
You will almost certainly not enjoy what you read!
When you have read it, read it again, slowly.
This book is directed at the USA and the furniture industry but it applies to all developed countries and virtualy all industries.
I am sure most of us are aware of what the author is saying, but he spells it out extremely well.
I am in Europe. I found the above post as I was having my morning coffee before heading off to the workshop.
I only read chapter 1, the problem.
I am eager to read the offered solution this evening.
