Sometimes I spend too much time browsing the forum and too little time browsing Shopbot's home page. Yesterday I ran across Shopbot's link to an article about Wood-Mode, Inc. that was published last year in the March edition of FDM. You can read the article here: www.fdm-digital.com/fdm/200603/?pg=38&pm=1?u1=friend (http://www.fdm-digital.com/fdm/200603/?pg=38&pm=1?u1=friend)

Briefly, it tells how Wood-mode uses TEN shopbots to do specialized tasks in a business that has annual sales of more than $200,000,000. It's interesting reading, particularly for those of us who want to see non-traditional ways to use our machines. Of particular interest to me were photos of two machines that Wood-Mode built using Shopbot's Inventor's Kit. You'll notice the use of linear rails on both machines and a tool changer on one machine. (It probably helps to have $200 million a year in sales to fund a little research and development.)

If I recall right, Joe May was at the Jamboree and gave a talk on this company. He also had a video of one ShopBot running. It is quite a neat company, and Joe is a super guy too!
