View Full Version : Aluminum cutting?

I need to cut some aluminum and was hoping someone that has cut it before could help me with some starting bit choices/ speeds and feed rates.

I'm cutting 1/8" flat sheets. cutting out shapes.

The "Bits, Speeds, and Feeds" Chart has 38 entries for various materials. Five of the Chart's entries are for Aluminum.

Brady, thanks for the kind words. The information was compiled from ShopBot Forum, I just edited it slightly.

Here is the latest version of the chart -- 2/11/09. It contains a corrrection revising Line 31 from "1/2" pass depth" to "1/4" pass depth."
