Hose diameter for dust collection...

I'm setting up the layout for my dust system and I'd like to know what size hose is recommended for use with the PRT96Alpha and the Lee Valley Cyclone lids. They offer 2-1/2" and 4" models.

Is it strictly dependant on the vac system used? I'll be using a Harbor Freight dust collector that I think has a four inch inlet.

I have been using the 4" version & they work great. I chose this size because my hose between the collecter & cyclone is 4" & use a reducing fitting for the 2 1/2" between the SB & cyclone.The clear PET lids are my choice.

The Alpha dust foot has a 4" outlet unlike the PRT that has a 2 1/2". For the alpha use the 4" fittings.

I think i would stick with the 4 "
It has alot of air volumn that will be benifical to you
