is there a way to begin routing in the general area where a bit broke after installing a new bit without re-running the whole file. thanks

If you are running a file, and for some reason have to interrupt the cutting process ( broken bit, long file/late night, etc.), you CAN pick up where you left off! While the file is running hit the space bar to “pause” the machine. Then ( and this is very important) look at your Shopbot screen and WRITE DOWN the line number you have paused at.

Next move is to “quit” the file. and then MH, Move Home Now you can change the bit, and remember YOU HAVE TO RE-ZERO your new bit at this point!!! Once this is done hit “FG”. It will ask you which file you want to cut ( the same as “FP”). Navigate to the same file you were cutting and hit “enter” a few times until you come to a screen which has a few command letters at the bottom. There are a number of options here, but for this purpose you want to hit “N” for “line #”. Then you will fill in the line number you have written down ( you can even back up a few lines if you think you might have been a little slow to hit your space bar earlier..). When you have done that, hit “R”( for ”run”), and the machine will pick up the file where you left off!!! This will save you the trouble of trashing a partially finished cut

If you are using Vector you can just click on the text file on the SB code window and you will see your arrow on the drawing

You can do an air cut and set the speed high, then just pause it where you want to start, write that number down.

or do it Rob's way if you know Vector.
