After alot of playing, and adjusting, and more than my fair share of cursing, I may finally be getting the hang of this machine. These are some spindles we copied and turned for a couple customers on the Shopbot.

Tell me how you got the designs just right? How did you match the profiles? Did you turn these on an indexer? Good job...
Nice Job! How did you set up the job? Did you cut one of the originals in half to get the profile?
They look really good, this is one of the reasons I got an indexer. I haven't had much time to mess with it and would also like to hear your process.
check out his site http://www.mrspindle.com/
Looks good, and thanks for the info
Thanks guys.
They were turned on the indexer. To match the profile, I measure them and plot out the points in my old Bobcad(because I am more familiar with it) then save a dxf to transfer into Aspire. I finish the file in Aspire, and run it through the PP. Then it is a matter of getting all of the feed and turning speeds right for an optimal turn.
what bit did you use or was it a collection of bits . thanks
Gene,
It all depends on the spindle we are copying. For these I use an 1/8" bit because of the small beads.
