New to the ShopBot World
Hello everyone, i am new to the shop bot world! I have been trying to cut out some letters through Vcarve, i have ran into 2 problems. 1) my tool is going all the way down thru the material into the softpad... 2) When i try to cut out a few letters it will cut the first one out fine then not even touch the material for the rest of the letters to be cut out! Anything helps at this point thanks.

Double check where you are zeroing your tool to. Top of material or your tool bed? Be sure to zero appropriately.

I'd be willing to bet money that your router bit came loose in your collet.

you might consider taking a screen shot of your tool paths and post on here

Here is a picture of what ive tried recently. So it cuts the first letter then does not touch the material the rest of the cut. I zero it to the material??..

Then if i try to set my cut depth .5 to 1" it burns my material on the final pass.... Attachment 31608 Attachment 31609

That sounds really plausible. Zero your bit, run the job, then check your zero again. If it's different, you should try tightening your collet a lot more.

One thing i have learned and that is there is no such thing as a flat board. chances are this is not your problem, but was your table surfaced before you secured your work piece to the table. try sending your file to me for my not so expert opinion. ashwood1296@gmail.com
