The ground wire came out of the plug on my z-zero plate. I can hold it in by hand and it works, but not sure what tools I need to be able to repair this.

You need a wago Tool. Or you can just use a very small screwdriver.
When you push it into the other hole opposite where the wire goes the wire clamp will open.
Just to make that a little clearer. The Wago tool is a wee tiny thing that does a job that should be obvious but is not.
Take a VERY small flat blade screwdriver and push it in to the square hole. With a little experimenting you will see that you can make the metal piece in the round hole move out of the way. While that piece is out of the way push the wire past it and release the screw driver blade.
