I'm not sure i can describe it so you can see a mental picture, but..several years ago i saw a video of a 3d program someone was working on where the had a picture of a candelabra that just had 2 arms, they copied the arms, repositioned it to make it look like it had 4 arms in the 2d picture and then turned it into a 3d object. Same with an outside water faucet, does any of that ring a bell? If so do you know what that program was, if it ever came to market?
