I use downcut bits on HDU.
Those style foots won't work on the old dual rail PRT machines. There is no clearance for the hose unless you come out from behind the spindle like the original dust foot.
Wanted to see if anyone had an old original style dust foot laying around that they wanted to sell. Mine came loose during a 2 hour cut and my bit cut it in half!
I really only need the clear...
Yea, that MDO is not going to be stable enough in my opinion. I would really do it right and get a piece of aluminum machined for that mount.
I would really be interested in how that $280...
Scott - Thanks, it worked fine wiring in the Z prox to input 3 with X and Y.
Does the Bora have the exact same diameter as the old PC routers?
I am setting up a Z prox also, so I am trying to follow along on this thread. My X and Y switches are wired into input #3 and I am using the exact same brand and model prox switch for the Z axis. ...
This just happened to me and I had to buy the new Version 2 control card from Shopbot for $250. I actually just installed it last night and ran two simple part files without a problem.
It's been a while since anyone has posted in the sign section. Anybody else still making signs with their Shopbot on a regular basis? For me, this has been the majority of my business. Even with...
Thanks for all the replies. Can anyone comment on improvements on cut/edge quality?
Don - Were you cutting at 6ips on a PRT Alpha?
Well, keyboard was not the problem. Tried a new keyboard last night and the problem still appeared. Everything went well for two hours. I was done for the night and when I closed down the control...
Seriously, has anyone upgraded from a PC router to the 2.2HP HSD spindle and regretted it? I never see anyone post about regrets but it's hard to admit to it after spending that much money.
...
It is a wired keyboard, but it's about 12 years old. I'm borrowing one from work to try out tonight.
I installed 3.6.46 but I still have the problem with my cursor jumping around. Shopbot support told me that they had never heard of this happening. My computer is old but this only happens in the...
I am currently using 3.6.14 with a Windows XP machine. (I know, way behind the times!) I have been having problems where my cursor will start jumping around as I try to start typing commands such as...
Looking to buy a PC 7518 or 75182 router to have as a backup. Thanks,
You won't be able to use all 4 axes at the same time. When you run the indexer, you park the carriage on the centerline of the rotary work piece. According to how your indexer is mounted, the X or...
How thick is the aluminum that you will be cutting? I would be interested in how you are handling the metal chips if you are talking about cutting aluminum other than Dibond type material.
I have engraved with the Rowmark. You need to triple your feed to 60ips. If you have large areas to clear, try using one of the flat bottom endmills from Centurion. ...
My dowel was steel. I actually just used an old 1/4" v-carve bit and just chucked it in my router upside down. The aluminum foil is grounded to the z-zero plate. When the metal dowel touches the...
Well, this is my 2nd post in a row with no one responding. Anyway, I did figure this out. Option 2 above is what will work. The Copy Machine tool doesn't stop until it makes a full loop in 2D...
I am looking to use the Shopbot probe to calculate the 2D profile of an existing turned part. I won't need to rotate the indexer at all. All that I need to do is probe one side of the turning in...
I am quoting a large (5' x 12') sign for a town in my area. This will be in a high profile area, so it needs to look good and be durable. The design is simple, solid black background with white...
I ordered a sample directly from Duna and received it in about 1 week.
