John, is this still available?
I got caught in the Porter Cable shut down/unavailability pre and during covid supply chain BS. I had purchased a Bora PM-254 from Home Depot because it fit and my 4th PC 7518 was screaming at me. It...
John, is this still available? Thanks
Just noticed that Woodcraft and Amazon are selling the Bora Portamate PM-P254 router motor again. And the price is very reasonable again. This is a direct replacement for the discontinued PC-7518....
That is what I saw also. Yes, it is a direct replacement for the PC 7518. It even fits the PC router base.
So far so good! Yes it is MDF and I do worry about it. The hold downs have to be angled a little which gives a small gap for the MatchFit to pull up on. I think I am using more hold downs per side...
I just got tired of using screws for hold down method. I am using the MicroJig MatchFit 1.5" dovetail track hardware screw. I have enclosed some pictures to show and tell. The standard table of 24x32...
I would like some feedback on the Bora PM-254 router. I have been using a Bora PM-254 since last October with absolute joy. I bought it over a year ago as backup to the 4 Porter Cable routers that I...
I will try it! Sounds good.
From what I could find it sounds like a supply chain issue with China. Cost of $600 to $700 and 30 to 60 day delivery. All of the feedback is very poor quality. Chinese junk as far as quality goes. I...
This has nothing to do with my ShopBot, but I am having a heck of a time with PC Stick it sandpaper for quite awhile now no matter where I buy it. It sticks real good and usually destroys the pad on...
I have used the PC 75182 for many years, but I am tired of rebuilding them. Do any of you still using routers have good results from possibly better choices? Thanks for your help.
Thanks again to Wayne for hosting the "Symposium". Good to see and talk to Bill Young again and get some great tips from all of the "presenters" and attendees. Thanks to Dave Midkiff and Bill Young...
Probably 3/8" in 1/2" material
I am planning to cut out small parts of acrylic and need ideas on how to insert very small pins into the material. Pins are about .0725" in diameter and maybe an inch tall. Sort of ring shanked like...
I am only using X3 Scott. Not the latest.
I am in the process of designing a new shop and need all of your vast sources of ideas! I am looking for simple 3D images of woodworking tools (table saw, drill press, band saw, planer, dust...
I am interested in an indexer for a 4G controller.
Perry, I have had that happen. I use a PC router and was using a CMT extension and it fell out. Scared me a bit! I came to the conclusion that it just wasn't tight enough. I now use an offset wrench...
Does anyone have a good source for 2D vector drawings. Looking for profile view of chevy pickup truck. Thanks.
This post reminded me of a license plate holder that I had with "He Who Dies With The Most Toys Wins", on it. A cop that pulled me over was chuckling when he came up. He asked me what the corollary...
Last month I had a problem with my Z Axis. It just quit working after two hours of a 3D cutout (about 3/4's done). At first I thought the driver had gone away, but that was not the case. After...
Have you received help yet?
Rob, all CAD programs have a learning curve to get useful service out of them. I have been using 2D AutoCAD for many years and am comfortable with it for most designs. I only paid $49.95 for it to...
On my old PRT the fan only comes on when it heats up. It comes on and off in a quiet shop quite frequently.
