Shari,
I know ShopBot recommends the "inch arc" choice, because it does a better job. Look at ShopBot's web site under Support, Driver/Patches, and the ArtCam downloads.
Kevin,
I lived in Northern Minnesota, where the temp in the garage would get down to 0º. I used a 220V electric heater and it would warm up to above freezing in about half an hour. No additional...
Paco,
I don't know if my prox switches are "normaly closed", but the light shows only when they are over the trigger bolts. I am happy with the way my K mode works, allowing me to go to the end if...
I have an PRT Alpha upgrade and I find the Keyboard arrows allow me to go back and forth over the prox switches. I think it is supposed to work this way, and only command moves will stop at prox...
I switched to Vista for my main programming computer. I use it to run ArtCam Insignia, Ver 3.6. At first Insignia would not run correctly, but after some updates from Microsoft, it works great. (Much...
I use 5 each, "Long Ranger" gates, which turns on the my cyclone style vacuum system. It is comparatively inexpensive. (And you can't forget to close gates and wonder why you have no vacuum.)

Danny,
I had problems with losing the, control box to computer, connection and I also had a problem needing more length than the 10' cable supplied by ShopBot. I needed about 13'. I had added...
Frank,
I also made an unecessary trip to radio shack for heat sink transfer paste and when repacking boxes to ship back I found the stuff in a box. ShopBot should send a packing list with each...
Dave,
Even if your Z is not perfectly vertical, run a tabletop surfacing routine anyway. At least now you have a level surface, but with ridges, and a place to start from, to get your table dead...
I just ordered a new computer with Vista and expect it to work, Vista has a feature that will allow the running older programs included.

Steve,

Jack,
I have ArtCam Insignia and it has a conversion program to trace bitmat to vector. I found this feature did not to work very good on photographs. After several trys, I found a method that...
There are a lot of newcomers to Shopbot, with questions on which bit, speed, etc.
There are chip load tables and other support materials, but I have to see things for myself, and offer my method...
I lived in Northern MN, and had an unheated garage. Temp was as low as 20 degrees in the garage during unheated periods. I heated with a 220V electric heater and a wood stove. I never had any...
I added a kitchen island to my home and was pleased with the results. Simple project, but fun.
1st Picture: Standard counter top upsidedown with reinforcing plywood for overhang strength. Final...
I use baltic birch, but be careful, as far as I know, baltic birch has interior glue, and "finnish" (Finland) has exterior glue, but is harder to find.

I moved from Minnesota to Arizona this past year, and everything worked fine. I had a 6' x 12' enclosed trailer.
I tied everything down on the gantry with nylon ties, lifted the gantry off the...
After a year of owning my ShopBot, I moved into a new 16 x 22' shop. I had a 220v installed in the ceiling above the ShopBot and one on the wall for the dust collector. When I dropped the 220v to a...
