Well, I'm at a loss...input 2 doesn't work either
Ran through a probe set up routine and in the 2D fill in sheet it is preset at input 1 with a note that says (input 2 on PRT only) ...Could that be my problem? Should my probe be set at input 2 since...
Thanks for the great advice Brady.
I followed your instructions and I am getting the light on input 1. However, moving the stylus is failing to deactivate the light? Any ideas? . I have rebooted...
Hi Guys,
Need a little advice. Running a PRT96 with gecko control box. Got a project that required a probe. Ordered said probe and need to hook it up. I have 2 sets of inputs on my control board....
I think the driver was a little over $100. I ordered some other stuff with it.
Quick clarification...The black and green wire needs to be reversed in the wago connector ONLY ON X2 motor on the control box end.
Sorry
Just updating for anyone who may run into this again.
My problem was a bad driver. Ordered a new Gecko driver from Shopbot and installed today. The old girl sings beautifully. For those interested...
Hello Botters. Need a little advice. Been experiencing a problem with my z axis on my PRT96. Movement is rough and it is losing steps. Getting a high pitched squeel out of the z motor when I move or...
I have come back to this piece 3 times now... I really love this piece. FANTASTIC. It really has that 1920's carnival look. The rocket and gauges remind me of the movie Zathura. I am truly envious of...
David,
The prismatic letters and design elements are cut separately and applied to the base sign. I started this technique years ago mainly for painting strategies. I still hand paint those vee...
JD,
This is fantastic. I have been wanting to do full scale fun models like this for a long time. I even bought a 3d laser scanner several years ago to get base 3d models into my system. I have a...
Been a while since I have lurked around here. Just been busy doing what I do. :)
Thought I would share my last commercial sign project.
well guys...I don't know what the filth flarn flarn filth happened..but after 7 hours of fiddling with it off and on and all of your help I just went and reset SB3 to all default settings and that...
well...you got me there Gene....I don't know where I check or change unit values for jog speeds. I only see VU that sets the stepper unit values....I have looked all thru the control software.
Gene,
already tried that...no effect unfortunately. The motors just sound wrong in Jog mode too...no matter the speed. They sound like they are spinning fast but getting no grip if that makes...
Thanks Gene...that is getting printed and put in my file.
It looks like my software reverted to default unit values for some reason. I changed the unit values to what looked like the proper fit.(it...
you guys are on to something...I think I have narrowed it down to my unit values. I think they have changed somehow?? The steppers are not tracking the proper distances. Im not sure what my correct...
Hi,
Longtime PRS96 owner here, since 2000. Went out to fire up SB today to cut a sign that is on deadline. Went to Jog machine and it is acting all bogged down. (standard moving is smooth but...
Nick,
I had the exact same problem with large files. I also noticed my control box acting a little wacky... (stop in the middle of a file, lose zero). My box tends to get dirty so I have been...
Yeah, I'd like to make a few of these for my wife's classroom.
Bill
O.K. Dirk now I am seeing the benefits of an indexer for my shop. Had no real interest until now. Thats fantastic...I don't need to carve skulls but I can now see many more applications that would...
That will work Dan but keep in mind that the sign foam has the capability to curl a bit. As Joe mentioned you will have different expansion and contraction rates and with a possible curling foam...
Dan,
The tee nuts or boltimg from behind will work but HDU isn't dense enough or strong enough to hold the fastener by itself. You mauy want to cut an oversized hole and fill with epoxy then tap...
Pat,
The short answer is yes...It can warp. Actually had this happen on my first foam sign. when you carve one side you will release the surface tension and if the sign is facing the afternoon sun...
Dan,
Congratulations on your first outdoor sign project. Make sure that talented wife of yours gets to paint it
. O.K. you can get away with a 1/2" relief comfortably You can even push it deeper...
