MassCraft in MA or Rescue Pearl in CA
You could use a die grinder with a slitting saw blade and mount it to the z-axis.
Another way is to cut the slots on a table saw using a special blade available from Stewart MacDonald's guitar...
I cut pearl all the time on my bot, even do engraving. Settings are 0.2 ips and pass depth of 0.010. I cut with bits as small as 1/32.
To hold the pearl, I glue it with titebond to balsa wood...
I do the same routine and also need to hit the start button.
Problem is the dialogue box to start the spindle isn't appearing as usual when I try to cut the same file on a new piece of material. ...
I have been using the CR command to level some guitar plates. As always, I hit Alt 1 on the keyboard first to turn on output 1.
Sometimes when I start the cut, the dialog box for turning on the...
Thanks to you all for the advice.

Hi all,
When machining on older file, I often forget details like cutter size, whether I zeroed at the table or on top of the part and spindle speed and feed rates etc.
I would like to include...
Hi,
I have a PRT ALPH 48 x 96 shopbot with 5hp spindle which due to the current economy is sitting idle for much of the time.
Please contact me if you need stuff cut.

Just set the resolution at 100 times part size.
For example: if your part is 6 inch x 12 inch set the resolution to 600 x 1200
One thing I discovered last week when using the Go To Line command is that the move speed (MS)within the file is not recognised and will revert itself to the ShopBot software default.
You must...
Thanks Brady,
I know from my metal working background that machining brass with a conventional mill like a Bridgeport is at a much lower RPM and when searching around on the Web, most formulas are...
Hi,
I need some advise for profile cutting 1/16 inch brass plate.
What would be the ideal spindel RPM, and feed rate using a 1/8 inch dia. bit and what type of bit is best.
Thanks Jason for the pricing update. Please put me on your mailing list or tell us how we will know when it will be available.

Jason, this is just what we need. I especially like the fuction that allows you to isolate a line of code. I cut pearl inlays with tiny bits which often break and it's always been a pain trying to...
Dear Brady,
I too would also be interested in the technique or steps to reproducing a photograph on a shopbot. Or perhaps one of you who already has been sent the information from Brady could email...
Hi all,
I started this thread with the object of trying to find out if a shopbot or shopsabre would be the better choice to buy for a guitar builder wanting to do 3D carved parts. i.e. carved...
Thank you all for your kind help and advice. I am convinced and will hopefully soon become a Shopbot user.
I am considering getting a shopbot. I build guitars and want to use it to 3D carve guitar necks and also plates shaped similar to cellos.
Is this machine the right choice for this type of work, or...
