Thanks Brady and Eric. I haven't been keeping up with the info lately. Is there a difference in arc smoothness between the Standard and the Alpha? I seem to remember the Alpha having courser steps.

I'm interested in a 48" buddy. I'm curious how rigid the machine is. What cuts is it capable of taking smoothly? I'm considering both the Alpha and Standard with a 4hp spindle.
Is that video in realtime?
I'd recommend a 3/8" or 1/2" compression spiral to keep from splintering the top.
Most skate boards have a bull nose profile on their edges. You might have to do a tool change or have a manual...
That was easy! Thanks John.
I'm going to get my butt out of bed an extra hour every morning and go through the tutorials.
"You know what new software's like."
I know that I've had a copy of RhinoCAM for over a year and have been too busy to try it
Nice work. It has the look of real craftsmanship.
Where do you find a shopbot post for RhinoCAM?
We get custom sized belts made up by Engineered Abrasives. The minimums and the costs are low.
Are the two end plates parallel with each other? Are the bearings exactly the same distance apart?
I use this keyboard. It works great.

Man Haze, that's looking even better. What's the procedure for replacing bearings? Who can do the work?
It's obvious that there wouldn't have been 10 others if the first one didn't live up to expectations. However what have the advantages been Joe?
They don't look like they're built for speed. Even the servo option is slower than an alpha is it not?
No, but I sure go through a lot of bearings on mine.
I still prefer it over the PC though.
Gary, I think I understand the concept of your drill. I'm assuming you have a pneumatic slide that the drill mounts to. Air on causes the drill to drop down and start spinning. Air off powers off...
Since we're on the topic, does Rhino 4 work any better with Vista than Rhino 3?
Joe, that's a cool looking setup. Does the carousel rotate?
Joe, do you have any photos of that? I've never heard of a round tool changer on a shopbot.
What was it like setting it up?
Oops, one other question comes to mind. How do you switch back in the same file?
Thanks guys. I'm pre-Partwizard, using Vector to generate SB code. I'm assuming I'd copy and paste "FP, c:\SbParts\Custom\My_variables.sbc " into my partfile for a head change. I'm also assuming...
Can anyone walk me through this? Let's say for example your X offset is 3" and your Y offset is 1".
FP, c:\SbParts\Custom\My_variables.sbc
&Xoffset = &my_Xinhead2offset
&yoffset =...
Eric, I've always wondered about torque specs. Where do you find reliable information on that?
I've been looking into this as well. I'm not there yet, but a good place to start is knowing your break even volume and where your comfort zone profit wise is. From there any production increases...
That's a really cool system. Great work!
If you're homing your tool locally on the fixture, how do you program the tool locations? Or should one use a master home location and temporary...
