I cut mostly foams and would like to replace my controller box (possibility the steppers) to get the fastest cut speed possible and keep a accuracy of around .03in or so. Cutting foam I also don't...
Post the file I have ideas -- will cut fast and the offsets can be applied to any shape
Ken has a point -- I think the bit is pulling itself into the cut. you may have to make several cuts with offsets then a finish cut to clean up.
Recycling CDs -- "polycarbonate sheet" I will remember that one
Don't know how to explore this but... I would like to see a webpage that places people with talents (like shopboters)with people with Ideas. The one with the idea promotes the idea, looking for...
Use Firefox or Google chrome as a browser. and don't use outlook or other email applications that downloads the mail to your PC, use a web based email like gmail. I do some deep surfing in some dark...
Shari
don't take it the wrong way -- I was just asking if you were using there models. Quite a bit of the wildlife carvings are looking the same to me these days. I am learning on Aspire demo and...
Are you repackaging the VectorArt3d designs? and if so is that within the license agreement? the Elk look very similar to theres.

WOW -- would love to get speeds up that fast
I most of the time have a +/- 1/16 tolerance -- and would love to have the speed.
Good luck
thought it was fast -- to bad I was hoping you had the magic settings for foam cutting speed.
I have a bounce at the end of the raster also but I am on a wooden table and it has had it share of "G" pulling it in all directions.
Was the video run at a faster speed? I am running at 6IPS...
I can see that -- but they also dump sand out on the track at the engine for traction.
And my bot has no curves --
This is what make the Shopbot great -- what works for some may not for...
I have found issues with Arc if I scale/flip the program.
a compression style bit may be a good idea -- I have used one on SIP panels (OSB-EPS-OSB) sandwich.
Another idea is use some indexing pins and flip the material and cut from both sides. ...
Rollers on a track...not sliders -- I do keep a light oil on them but nothing heavy that holds dirt.
I cut foam and it blows and will stick to anything that is damp -- thats why I keep them dry.
I do not understand the lubing of the rails that have rollers run on them -- I see lubercating the rolers barings but not what they roll on. thats like a train running on lubed rails -- let the...
Great work
-- both the model and the cutting.
I thought "Obama Logs" were grass bundles made in Kenya.
I am looking in to upgrading to the 4G and keeping the current control box and making a small desktop "shopbot". Looking at work/cut area around 12x18x3, any ideas?
Another option is a second...
No network on my bot -- but looking in to it now.
