Hey Scott, glad you're back at it! That would be MN (Move Nudge).
VC Safe Z Pull-Up.
Otherwise, look at what your design software is using for home/start position, Z above material, and rapids above material.
Ancient indeed! 2012 called and they say it's waaaaay past time to upgrade to some better control software! 12 years past time for SB3!
That said, when the button window is open, hover your...
I've replaced several of them over the years, until my spindle finally died and was replaced. Check somewhere like Digi-Key for a replacement of the same size, voltage, ball bearing, and cfm.
Do you have an example of what you're trying to do?
Have you seen this pdf (C:\Program Files (x86)\ShopBot\ShopBot 3\Help\Calculated_Functions.pdf)?
Is your machine an ATC?
Open the file for output and the use the "Write" command to write to it by using variables in your file. Variables can be hard coded or set with the input command.
Sample code to open a file and...
Yes and yes. For writing to the file, look at OPEN "path&filename" FOR {INPUT/OUTPUT/APPEND} in the programming manual.
Ron,
Take a look at something like an Intel NUC, or what I like to use for my Centroid Acorn upgrades, are some of the off lease mini business pc's by Lenovo or HP on eBay. Lenovo M93p and up or...
Check the settings for the tool with the edit button in the Aspire toolpath, what is the rpm set to. Check that tool's settings in the database as well to make sure it's right. Post the two codes...
Ah, an old BotRods controller! Close to 20 years old by now, perhaps. It should run up to SB3 v3.6.46, but since the SB 4g controller is basically a clone of it, it might be able to run a higher...
Alt-1 to set the spindle on, bring up the keypad (spindle should start or at least the message to start it), use keyboard arrows to move or type in commands and enter. Alt-1 again to stop the...
Oh my, I'm surprised that PC hasn't burnt up!!
If you have a PRS or PRT Alpha, VN Switch #4 Stop Type should be Normally Closed. Is the physical E-Stop button reset (out), or pushed in? Rotate it to release it back to the out position. ...
Good catch Russ! Yes, if the font wasn't created in VCP, but brought in from another program as a dxf etc., you can get many nodes that then create "facets" for the letter or object profile, and that...
If your cuts look good, it could just be that you are using a feedrate that falls in a bad "motor resonance" range. Try some different feedrates to see if any sound better, and for best motion with...
One other thing to note, the "free" version of Fusion does not output rapid (jog) feedrates, just the cutting feedrates.
Greg is right, there are 3 post for SB there, just checked. I've never had need for machining a file from Fusion with my SB, but have posted a few for UCCNC and Centroid Acorn.
If you know JavaScript, you could edit or create one. You could try one of the basic G-code posts and see how it works (SB3 will run the basic G-code commands), but YMMV....greatly. SB HQ should...
Have you tried editing the file to set zero power level after the spindle start, before the start of the first lase power motion? Could also try a different output for the laser that doesn't trigger...

Taylor, post the file, or at least the first part of it, so we can see what the code is doing. What program and post-processor are you using for generating the toolpath?
Check your chosen tool dimensions in Aspire's tool database. Your part size is off by 0.25" each way. Bit diameter off by 0.125"? Or check the toolpath itself, do you have an offset applied?
Do you have a two head machine? Try changing the tool number to anything from 1-19.
Wrong Post chosen, possibly a non-spindle control one. Open the part file in an editor and check for the spindle on code as well as an RPM value. New tool config possibly set at 0 RPM.
