I need photos please! Reconnecting old motherboard…many wires got disconnected. No photos…dumb on my part.

I mean even when machine IS turned off

I’ve tried direct to a USB port and to a hub. No luck

Every computer I’ve tried says comm port 3 is not functioning.tried multiple USB ports.

And shows input #4 red even when machine isn’t turned off.

I should explain…powering up the machine…I manually start the spindle and increase power. I’ll try to see if the e-stop is fouled up.

Did a fresh install but no luck. Tried a new cable too… still no success.

I tried blowing out the control box very carefully! No luck

I recently created a set of steampunk 3d models for use in carving and used it on this name plaque for a customer...They are thrilled with it, which makes me happy.

Looking to sell one of these...any advice on how much I should ask? I understand they aren't all that common.

One suggestion: I see lots of people use a font that is a script style and not kern it properly. What is kerning? Take a look at this :

One tip I got from a friend who does a great deal of airbrush work is to thin the paint for hand lettering or airbrush....
instead of water you can use clear acrylic. "Future" used to be the brand...

Switching to a different driver solved the issue. I suppose I'm going to have to seriously consider an upgrade from the old board/computer next year.

Well dang.
I thought it was cleared up, but after an hour long carve in some pvc, it was about 1/4" higher at the end and the carve was clearly off. Crud. Is it possible the driver may be going...

So far, so good. I cleaned the Z rack and pinion with acetone, then re-coated with white lithium....messy job for sure.
At the moment, it seems to be cutting fine and right on the money.

I recently moved my shopbot to a new location and once everything was set up, I have tried some test cuts.
