Hi Folks,
We moved to a new house and I just don't have the set up to run this any time soon. I have linked to my craigslist post where you can see a few pics. This machine has the...
have you loaded drivers? Also I have a Win10 machine that I have to plug in to the bot and restart every time to get it to talk to the controller.
check your software and see if they somehow got swapped there. If your cables are correct that is all I can think of.

I can print one for you. I have a bunch of PETG material here which should be fine for this as long as you don't care about color. Just let me know which file you want to print. Paypal me the...
Pretty sure he can ask what ever he wants for it. I don't really see the point of posting unless you are making an offer.
I don't think if you have a Buddy it could be 20 years old. I want to say the first year was 2007-8. If yours is old than that, you might just have a PRT Desktop. The PRS boxes had red Gecko...
300-400 ipm I would think is too fast. Not sure if you have an Alpha or if you have a Standard...that would make a big difference. I don't understand what you mean about rotating 180 degrees. Do...
2008 seems to be the last gen that had the aluminum table. The press in v rails seemed to have started right after that when the power stick went also to gen 2.
Are the problems only when you are doing 3d carving?
PRS or PRT? What year? Pics? Any specifics would help.
I would look for a PRS vs a PRT. The PRS will have hardened rails and be more reliable. You should talk to Gary Campbell about upgrading the PRS once you have it. He knows his poop.
Gary,
He mentioned you built the control box, but he also mentioned he is running belt drive transmissions. Are those something you offer also? I would love an easy option to ditch the gearboxes.
I have been out of the game for a while. Sold my Bot about 10 years ago before we moved. The intention was to get another machine when we got settled in our new area. Life happened and am just now...
Sounds like I reopened a can of worms. I suppose there is no idea on this forum that probably hasn't been discussed before. I am picking up a 10 year old BT32 the 18th. Part of the attraction is...
I don't think it's off topic. This can be the anything to do with slop thread. I have seen it mentioned that the gear boxes are able to be tightened up to eliminate some of the slop. Any tutorials...
Thank you for the feedback guys.
This was interesting.

I did a bunch of reading on it last night. What I was able to figure out from a few forums is to get your machine right. Then try and pick up a few more thousands by backlash compensation. But you...
Is there any provisions for backlash compensation in the SB control software?
Got my answer thanks.
Does anyone know what year SB made the switch from the aluminum slab on the Buddy to the powerstick o my table. Also when they went from the bolt on rails to the press in v rails?
Looking at the specification page. It says an Alpha can use full cutting force up to 600 inches per minute. You are at 360 ipm running 6 ips. 600 ipm is fast. You will definitely lose quality the...
Not as easy as the zero plate, but you can chuck the bit up, bring your z just above the material, loosen the collet so the bit drops down to the material, then lower your z over the shank, until...
