When I glue edges on, 2 inch spring clamps provide enough pressure to do the job.
So its not like you have to bear down on the clamps. I used to hot melt blocks on either side of the seam and clamp...
I get every thing on tables or stands level as I can and spaced up off the table with 3/4 scrap so that the epoxy squeeze out does not touch table.
Dry fit the seam and shim wherever necessary.

Racerboy, Sorry I missed your question. I was giving you three choices of bits depending on which radius you wanted.

Actually I do everything I can ,bottom side up before it is turned over. Edging, patches, buildup, and bowl.
Solid surface is heavy enough that I only want to handle as little as possible.
Hope...
In the shop I do them upside down So I can epoxy the patch across the seam for strength before I turn it over.
On the jobsite it can only be done right side up.

Look for Amana 49094 Cove bit w/bearing 1/8 radius
49016 1/4 radius
49114 3/8 radius
After you sand the edges you can flame the edges with a propane torch. Just run it along the edge quick and it will polish it.
Jim I tried that box and it took me back to $500.00 . Sure wish someone from Shopbot or Vectric would explain the difference
Thanks
I have 9.5.1.9 and my available upgrade to 10 is listed at 500 dollars. I wish someone could explain why some people can get it for 175 and others 500
That sounds great. I did originally think about turning the shopbot unit sideways on my 5 x 10 but that would make me loose some cutting area.
For now I am going to finish this one and see how it works. But is your new version printed? And are you going to either share or sell them? Everything about this Shopbot has been great, except the...
Eric
Ironically I just had your original design made by the local high school. I just picked up yesterday and am wondering if you could tell me which brush you purchased from Mcmaster? I also...
I think I found someone to print this for me. Is the spindle ring sized for a HSD 4 hp?
Thanks again
Thanks for sharing the files! I think I will contact the local Vocational school. My neighbor says they have a 3D printer. Maybe a decent donation would get one made.
Anything I should know about...
Eric, Your dust shoe is exactly what I need. I purchased a 5 x 10 Alpha w/ HSD and dual air drills. I was not aware that the dust shoe would not fit until it arrived.
Any idea on how I could get one...
Anybody on here able to help me with the latest problem. All my parts are approx. .020 to big on my onion skin pass, but only on two sides.
I have gone back to the Shopbot control software and cut...
I am getting runtime error 13 type mismatch when I try to safe toolpaths.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanksa
I think if you seal the bottom of 3/4 ply then bolt to frame then glue your 3/4 phenolic and machine your plenum it will stay flat forever. I don't know if you have any experience with Phenolic ?...
Mark
Interstate plastics list 3/4 HDPE at $283.57
3/4 PVC at $384.48
3/4 PHENOLIC At 520.53 all 4 x 8

I was thinking along the same lines. I guess the only disadvantage would be if you were running something without vacuum. But WOW it sure would make spoilboard replacement a breeze!
I have zero experience with PVC/HDPE. How does it compare to phenolic as far as weight, price, machinability?
Hi Eric
I am setting up my new PRS Alpha 5 x 10. In another thread I was asking for advice on using 3/4 Phenolic for my table and plenum. I think this should minimize leakage and be resistant to...
Hello
I am setting up a new 5 x 10 PRS Alpha and could use some advice on my table. I have two sheets of Formica 60 x 144 Phenolic that I would like to use. My questions are:
1. What should I use...
I will be using it primarily for cabinet work in the beginning. I have not decided yet what I will use for vacuum. The phenolic I have is Formica brand that came from a large cabinet shop nearby.
