I tried a simple file with Dana's PP and this is just a small section from it,
M5,,-0.3656,0.9500,-54.1241
if 0.9500 > 0 then &AngularFeedRate=(180*0.6)/(3.14159*0.9500)

I use gcode and Mach3 as my controller.

You are right there is NO standard as to which end is the drive or headstock.
But there IS a standard as to the direction of rotation.
The right hand rule concisely describes this standard...
By convention the rotary axis direction of rotation should follow the right hand rule.
To correct for this use this line,
ROTARY_WRAP_X = "-"

That is interesting info Russ
I have insufficient knowledge of the shopbot code to either agree or disagree with your assessment. I use gcode.
The PP in question is one that Randall (a...
I have written an Aspire wrapping PP for those shopbots who have their rotary axis parallel with the X
It is based on the wrapping PP that is provided with Aspire that Randall wrote.

The majority of work holding devices you have ever seen used on a wood lathe will work on a rotary axis.

It is often confusing when trying to describe the correct rotation direction of a rotary axis.
To say "positive degrees will be clockwise when looking from the headstock to the tailstock"...
Thought I would go one step further and try something extra today.
Along the lines of a coffee table leg. They seem to be popular.
All done in Aspire

Yes one and the same. Version 2 Does just what version 1 did, but quicker.

I see there have been some examples of rotary work posted on the forum that are not actually done on a shopbot, so I thought I would post this one.

Many users swear by Inkscape for bitmap tracing. Being free it certainly fits your cost factor concerns.
You mention that your motivation is to do some detailed vcarving.
With that in mind...
