Personally, for a repair I'd use another type of connector. Maybe solder and heat shrink.

Looks like a good machine depending on the price. Only bad thing I can think of is that ShopBot added output protection to the motor drivers around 01 or 02. My Bot’s an 02 and I can replace the...
P.S. I try to stick with 1/4" holes when I can. That way I can chuck the bit in the 1/4" collet.
Use at your own risk but... This works great for me. I removed the chuck from a dead cordless drill and hey, the bearing surface was 1/2". I've drilled lots of holes with this in the PC. Just be...
Most of the parts are good with a few bad? Sounds like a mechanical problem with the machine not a software issue. Check the rails and gear track in that area for something loose or binding. You...
Save as dxf or dwg. That's what I ment by Solidwork to Autocad to ShopBot.
Solidworks… Are you saying you get 2d profiles from Solidworks? How? I send everything through AutoCAD from Solidworks to go to the ShopBot and the CNC at work. Please tell me there is an easier...
Forget to put the z-plate back in the holder, No. Forget to zero a new bit (even worse a drill bit.), A few times! Drill bits do not make very clean cuts drug through MDF.
I like Steve’s E6000 idea. I couldn’t find it locally but the big boxes around here sell “Amazing Goop”. Same company and I couldn’t tell the difference.
There was a coyote on TV when I was a kid that used something similar to catch a roadrunner. Were they yours? I thought they came form the ACME corp.
I think you’re cutting a little slow. That’s .016” per second. Try a more reasonable speed in VC Pro like 60” per min.

1/2" Rebar, bent in the vice and welded. The pivot point is some colors, bushings, and 1/2" bolts I had around the shop.
I also like the hose clamp holding the extra long (it looks) brushes on the DC foot!
Hot melt just around the edges?
If so that's cool! I'll be trying that with the next hard to hold project, Thanks.
When I got into Shopboting in 02 the software was very limited and difficult to work with. These days the software that comes with the machine is outstanding! The learning curve is getting shorter...
And I have storage for cut-off sheets under my stack.
Don't get me wrong, I love the crane idea. But it takes 4 foot by 8 foot if the wood is on the floor or at a useable height.
This is my lo-tech solution to the same problem. If you don’t put it down you don’t have to pick it up. The cart is just a little lower than the SbopBot table and my pickup bed. I roll it over to...
Just another swing arm dust collector hookup for reference for anyone interested. It works great for me. Thanks to all that have posted pictures of yours in the past.

Angus,
To be serious for a second (it doesn’t happen often). Make sure your dust collector hoses are grounded. Mix air and sawdust and it becomes explosive. A static spark can set it off.

Forum Admin, Can we get a wife filter on this thread?
Pookie, Plasma is a great choice! Should I call the FDP? I helped my brother-in-law start up his new TorchMate last Nov. Seems like a...
Guys, Do Not let your wife read this post... What if you want a laser next? Or a welder. Or a cutting torch.
Scott
P.S. I’ve never started a fire with the welder or torch but came close...
Only reason I said "best bet is": It's a safety thing. That way if the e-stop wire gets cut the machine doesn't run. That's why they changed it in the new machines. That being said, my machine is...
Older machine like mine I assume. Best bet is to pop open the e-stop box and re-wire it to the NC (normally closed) contact. The other choice is to tell the ShopBot software that you have the...
You’ll need to take it slow and shallow. Attached are some small V-Carved (not 3D) aluminum parts I’ve cut. Just used a carbide 90* bit. The machine marks will be harder to remove than wood. I...
