Sorry to go off on a tangent with Elephants and Acrobats. Didn't mean to push the envelope, just brainstorming and I got a little excited. I'm all for a conference call and will help out if needed.
I think a conf. call would be a great way to meetup and network. Couldn't we record the conference call and make that availabe via podcast. Also, Building off of Brady's idea, instead of a radio...
Thanks John for a great camp. My brother and I had a good time. I thought James Booths presentation was great and really enjoyed getting to talk with Bill Palumbo and "The Man" Ted Hall. Thanks...
That's what I was thinking when I read it. 6000 units a year, that would mean the online forum membership is way under what it should be.
Do a test with multiple speeds at full depth. You'll be surprised at what it can handle. Best way to test is make 10-14 36in. lines in V-carve. On mine I cut them in one pass at full depth, but...
The only "issue" I had was figuring out what type of hold-down I wanted to use. Shopbots vacuum, vac-clamp, fein vacs, nails, screws, t-tracks, hand clamps, or ?. I 3rd the grease-on-the-shirt...
Artcam as well as other software packages have post processors that convert the files into SBP files.
If money isn't an object then Artcam is the other choice for making signs (big learning curve). For the money, V-carve is the best choice and you could buy Corel X3 if you want more design...

Jay, if you have questions about Cabinet Parts Pro you can ask Ryan Patterson who created it. He now works at shopbot and should be reachable via Shopbot's support number.
Getting a program like Vectric's V-carve Pro helped me tons. You can create tons of stuff with it and you should be able to cover the cost of it after a couple of projects.
Here is a link on how to set it up. I don't know XML though. I may try and take a crack at it.

Since I'm not a programmer I don't quite understand how to build one. Not sure how involved it would be, but would be awesome to have though. I use the drop down search engines in Firefox all the...
Nice work! Ok, I'll be the first to ask, what material is that?
Gary Katz made the video. It's the best tutorial I've ever seen, it really simplifies Sketchup. Made it less daunting for me. That's why I had to post it, others should find it very helpful.
Saw this a month ago and forgot to post it. Showed my brother yesterday and I remembered how great it was to show the how great Sketchup is, especially for a free software package. The person who...
I had spoken to Ted Hall and others about this before, which is how the "email you when a new post is made" function got turned on. A good point Ted made was that he likes to know how people feel...
Here is someone who has been popular amongst the botters.
