Thanks, Don!
Hi there,
We have a PRS Alpha 120-60-6 router with a GC RS90/2FP1SBCPE25DX spindle for almost 12 years now. I just took over the CNC duties from the company's previous CNC operator.
During...
Hello, I am milling some 1/4" deep v grooves into some clear cast acrylic on my Shopbot PRS Alpha. I have been using an Onsrud 37-82 (60 degree bit) that came with the machine. It is working good,...
Hello-
I recently made a 2 inch high 3D form out of about a dozen sheets of Masonite (hardboard) laminated together and then routed. It looked great seeing all of the layers of material within the...
I can not figure out how to change the safe Z in Partworks 3.0. I know how to change in in the control software but it does not recognize what is already established within the file itself. Please...
Hello. I have a Shopbot PRS Alpha with a spindle router. I laminated together a 2" stack of masonite (hard board) with wood glue. Whenever I try to mill into this material with any of the 1/2" bits...

Hello-
I have a Shopbot PRS Alpha with a spindle head attachment. I was wondering if it is better to use a flat end or a ball end mill to route a curved 3D object. My object is a concave curved...

We do this all the time. You will be amazed what a flame polish can do after 220 sandpaper. You can use a simple propane torch from the hardware store. The key is you have to move across the acrylic...
Hello I am new to using a Shopbot. We have a project that requires us to cutout 6 inch squares out of aluminum composite (Dibond type material). Our cuts need to be made at a 45 degree angle. I know...
Also our new computer is completely bare bones and 100% dedicated to the Shopbot. We have no background processes running either. I hope you figure it out.
We had the same comm error symptoms that you explain. We installed a USB 2.0 drive into our computer, that didn't work. We grounded the **** out of our Shopbot, still didn't completely solve it....
Paul Z-
Yes I would most certainly be interested in your Z Zero routine for fragile bits! Thank you in advance!
Yes it is like Dibond
I have a project that requires me to drill thousands of accurately placed 0.5mm holes into aluminum composite panel. We have a PRS Alpha 5'x10' with a Colombo Spindle.
Is it possible to find a...
