I have a separate pneumatic assist for the z-axis... The spindle bearing cooling air has it's own solenoid valve and a control wire that runs all the way back to the ATC control board. Shopbot just...
The HSD has a fan AND compressed air going to the lower bearings. I'm ok with the fan running constantly, the one on my Colombo did the same thing. What seems weird is to have the compressed air...

Looking for a shop in the Seattle area to do a few small jobs... Not Shopbot related, but I trust most 'botters are meticulous and detail oriented :)

With a proper "O" flute with 2 cutting edges I start at 15k rpm and 4ips.
For anything less than 3/16" I use straight flutes, 1/4" and up I use up spirals.

Uh, did you look at the price? ~$1800 per each!?!?!
Thanks Jay,
You'll always be famous in my book :p

I missed how thick the parts are, but the following assumes .060" thru 1/4" thick acrylic (cast, extruded, polycarb, etc.) I would have quoted somewhere between 25 and 35 cents, depending on how...
Well the date is coming near. The shop has been busy, the bot has been running close to 10 hours a day for the last few months. In this day of supposed economic decline we are doing pretty good. I...
Justin, I will be calling you in the next week. I need to get some more bleeder boards. I say plug all you want, Trupan is hard to find. And to have someone that knows what we need, without trying...
I get my orders same day if I order before noon. Even if it's raining. I don't see how they do it. I love that place!!!

One of the shops that use to do stuff for us had a ganged up-plunge router system that was made specifically for slat-wall. With two operators, they could do about 120 sheets an hour.
