All about TRACING?
I thank you.
I think I follow what you are explaining. Sort of.
Thanks a bunch.
One of these days, I need to open the Operators Manual. (Bad, real bad on my part.)
Scott, when the job is finished and comes to rest (Home), my Z height is not high enough.
How is that changed?
Thanks in advance.
What is it?
I do not use FB.
Thanks, gentlemen.
I get it!
Will not worry about my radio.
No spindle. Using a router.
Talked with shopbot yesterday. Asked if they recommend a better USB cable (still using the original cable that came with the machine). Here's their reply...

Ok and thanks.
Still using the usb cable that came with the machine.
Will look for a better cable somewhere.
Our Desktop D2417 Shopbot interferes with radio reception. With the machine ON, our radio reception is bad. We move the radio away, even 25 feet, and still have trouble.
What is causing this?...
+1 on all the above.
I had the ZERO PUCK underneath the cutter waiting for me to start the Z-Zero program. Instead, I sent a file to cut.
Whew boy!
Since I'm an EQUAL OPPORTUNITY OPINION PERSON (and comfortable with that), here's my brain-dump on this great subject...
Let's hope Vectric can manage the new employee owned setup well. Those...
My standard reply to all those purist handmade guys: "Do you have electricity in your shop?"
They usually back down.
Baltic Birch 3/4" plywood has 11 plies with exterior grade glue.
We have yet to get that tough stuff to warp!
Makes great signs!
Fine detail cutting is best at 0.045 - 0.075 (if you want to preserve the inside of small graphics).
Fonts are graphics and those E's and O's will be problematic at small sizes.

We doubled our feed speed to 120 ipm.
That saves 1.7 minutes cutting time per piece.
That's a saving of 30.6 minutes per 4x8 sheet.
Maybe we can double the life of our $17 bit?
If we can do...
ok, we'll give it a shot. Maybe try 100 ipm today. Thanks.
We get paid well at 60 ipm. (We see no economic benefit to going any faster than that.)
We are cutting hard wood layered together with exterior grade glues using a half-inch cutter. (Hard wood,...
180 ipm is too fast for our comfort level.
Don't want to tear up a $6k machine.
Anything we cut in our shop ranges between 60-75 ipm's.
We bid our jobs at 60 ipm's.
ipm (inches per minute)
Pretty darn fast (IMHO).
Shopbot Desktop with router.
We go through 10 sheets of 3/4" ply every month.
We cut 3/4" plywood with 1/2" straight fluted bits from Lowes ($17 each).
We ramp with 5 passes at 60 ipm and 16k rpm.
Great results!

Our workflow...

Somewhere in between all that are afternoon naps, trips to the lumber yard, and the biggie: THINKING UP NEW...
The FCC announced June 6 that they are allowing phone companies to BLOCK ROBO CALLS.
I think it is working. My phone has been free of robo calls. Yahoo!
Finally !!!

We would use a sheet of Maple plywood, 3/4" thick. That would be two sheets for this project.
1. Design the planks and cut them into the maple (to give the illusion of glued-up planks)...
The cribbage board was just an example of some of the things we make here.
The subject of my original questions were all about maple plywood and editing passes.
Thanks
Thanks, Martin. I get it. Thanks.
Yes, finally someone understands the hard glue in plywood thing. That's why I choose to go slow.
Also, one must think of those clamps holding down your piece....
