Hey, I mostly lurk here as my association with Shopbot is having a handibot but I thought some of you might be intrested in my very short book review I worked up for another forum.
First, let’s...
I've never seen a program or add in but Fusion 360 would be a great place to model them and then hand off to Vcarve for tool paths.
One of the very first things I made with my Handibot.
I like this, you could do the same with birch ply, I have been 3d printing mine.
No problem, just enter your bit sizes with plenty of significant digits
dito, on the PM
If you just want to see, I know it is bad practice, just Alt-Tab to another program.
If you don't want to pony up for the full version but want to learn the new stuff now, download the trial version. It won't affect your other install.
[QUOTE=Bob Eustace;191139]All sorted thanks. Cant understand why the originator chose to post in STL instead of DXF???[/QUOTE
Glad you got it sorted out! I was wondering the same thing. Most...
Thanx again Scott, yes, I need to watch them all again too. If I could get 3D and fourth axis cutting down, I mean really down, there would not be much I could not do.
I really can be obtuse at times! I got it from your screen shot! Negitive shape hight! Thanx
Yes, exactly! I got it by importing a DFX but I'd sure like to know your solution? I am betting it is so simple that I will slap my forehead as that is normally the case. I mean the tapered end.
Okay Vcarve geniuses, I don't know why this is giving me such trouble as I have Vcarve pretty well down in general.
I have a tall model that I need to mount vert after it is cut out. You got me...
Bob, I would but these need to be flipped and that is something I have yet to master myself. The good news is there is nothing with Fusion to learn, just Vcarve as the files are already STL. You need...
Depending on what you are wanting to do you can save as a STL file or dfx and then import. I do mostly STL into Vcarve or DeskProto.
I have no problem cutting with even a cheap laptop, just make sure it is plugged in and the power settings are set so it stays fully awake when doing a long cut.
The biggest "stress" on it would...
As Scott said, we get updates at a discount because shopbot is "sponsoring" our using VCP and I'm not trying to encourage bad behavior but for trying it out a lot of other machines run on generic G...
If any of you have a handibot or are interested, I maintain a group for us on G+
This has sold, thanx
Okay, I want to upgrade to a V2.0 Handibot so bad that I am willing to give someone a great deal on my Kickstarter version.
This unit was one of the original Kickstarter units, but it has gotten...
Any chance of a 1/4" shank?
I am using DP with my Handibot and the rotary indexer, and it works great out of the box this way, but I have yet to get it to work right with the other cutting schemes. I need to spend more time...

Bob, here are a couple to get...
One of my first projects was to make a corner rounding jig out of hardboard. I do thing a clone of the one pictured would be nice out of HDPE or blatic birch.
As already mentioned, you can manually index and lay down pins or dowels to make the move precise. I would not try to drag a piece along with a bit unless the piece is skinny and light. One last...
