I know this is old system but I don't seem to get the results I need.

I have a PRT Alpha. When I switched the only real problem I had was with the UBC to Serial cable. Took a couple of days to get a new one and then it was back up and running.
Just a note.
If you have an 'Old' machine (didn't realize that shop tools got old, My shopbot is third in line for being my NEW equipment) PRT ALPHA prior to about 2010 you too may run into this....
Thanks Scott. I did do that but didn't do the right reset. Back to making sawdust again.
Have a PRT Alpha. Was getting some data errors yesterday. After one, the machine started running 2 or 3 times faster than normal. It appears to be ignoring the inch per second - x&y rate I have set...
Thanks for everyones nice comments.
I did pocket around the top letters, then sprayed and sanded off - then carved the letters from foam and epoxied them in place. Bottom letters sit in a .002...
Just finished this sign. 7ft long, oak with foam letters and cherry 26" long pheasants. Used metal paint on the letters and sign ink for the black background....
I know I saw some images of 3d carvings that were 6 to 8 feet tall but danged if I can find them. I need some help - I have a company that wants 8 foot tall King Kong carved, then fiberglassed. I...
Nice job. That looks good in blood wood.
I'm in Montana. I would be interested in a project like this.
Thanks for all the help. I'll let you know how it works.
Scott - what I am trying to figure out is if I did it that way, can I somehow hold the curve close enough to carve. I think there will be a slight different curve to each back with no way to pull it...
My first thought was that the thinner board would just break. But not sure.
Similar, except curved. It goes on a bar stool, and I want to make curved backs but with carvings. Never done it so I was hoping someone had tried this or was doing this. I saw a chair with inlays....
That is similar to what I am trying to do. That sure turned out nice, thanks.
Question: I want to make a curved chair back with a carving in it. Two thoughts - 1st: cut out a board, do the carving then steam and bend. 2nd: laminate then carve into the curve. Any suggestions?
That is great. Took a little time?
That is a great display. Good work.
That is a great job and idea.
Thank you - I am never has pleased as I see the faults, not the results. But that is the way it goes I guess. She was happy when she got it and showed the help and the guests at the mansion she works...
Thanks,
I took a couple of pictures. It is a 10x15x3.5 inch box, QSOak and walnut oil with sculpt Noveau cross and rings. I used brass with green patina and brown wax. I used Vectra3D Cross and...
Bible box I am working on.
I was contacted by a gentleman in Florida who needs a wood radiator cover carved. I am in Montana, so it is not real convenient shipping. If there is a SB owner closer that is interested please let...
I got a call from a gentleman from Myrtle Beach wanting a fancy radiator carved. I am in Montana, so the price of shipping back and forth would cost several hundred alone. I was wondering if anyone...
I went to the web and found how many cubic inches were required for a certain weight.
Then built a box with locking 45deg joints in the corners, then did a rabbit for the top and ran a pocket in...
