I have one that has never been used. Bought in 2014
Interesting article, but where does anything in that article have to do with shopbot?
I respectfully disagree. The bare internal grounding wire needs to run the full length from inlet to outlet into the collector, and it needs to be well grounded.
Do you mean Mancala? A google search yields all you need to know.
You can certainly elevate them. At some point, the motors cannot hold the mass in position. Presumably, you want to elevate to put bigger pieces of stock in. It depends on how much you want to...
You should at least consider the other options that are able to be done. I modified an acutal wood lathe and attached it to the shopbot.
The answer to your first question, is yes, you...
Here is what my stack looks like 3 1/2 years later. Not complaining, just sharing.
They've been sitting in the office of my shop. Haven't figured out what to do with them yet.

What Brady said and
If your never had or used a plasma table, then you haven't seen the amount of hot metal slag and smoky **** that goes everywhere. It's not a safe thing to have around wood....
There are many other forums where ranting about your political views are appropriate, this isn't one of them.
Tom,
I am intrigued by the representatives of shopbot continual lack of making any kind of commitment on the schedule for FABMO to be completed.
I am an engineer and have been volved in and led...
Does anyone have an update of the status of the long awaited FABMO controller?
This was previously discussed at length with many claims made of completion timeframes in the thread:

and ....... it wasn't Vectric's fault at all.......
Vectric's is at the top of the game for CNC software and provides great support. Been using their products for several years with ZERO issues.
There are many good things about both brands. There are issues with both brands. Before you spend your money do some searches on both, or other, forums for issues.
Here's a place to start...
I don’t consider myself an expert, but I do have two engineering degrees (one of them being mechanical engineering) and 35 successful years in the aerospace industry. With that as my pertinent...
So, it's been a week since I last asked "What is the date? " and there has been zero response other than Brian stating that he needed to ask someone named Sturmer to provide a date.
Does Sturmer...
You've checked all the obvious, not it's time to check the unobvious. I've worked for 35+ years in the aerospace industry, much of it designing/manufacturing missiles and bombs. We take static...
Brian,
I applaud you for sticking it out and continuing to show a presence on this forum. I hope they're giving you a bonus for doing it when no one else will.
You just wrote to Brady that "I...
Mr. Coryat,
I'm curious.
If a car that you paid $25,000 for was unreliable, frequently stopped running while you were driving, perhaps while making an important trip and stalled, would you...
Statistically, it has to happen once in a while. I'm very happy for you.
As the originator of this thread, I have watched and watched the posts hoping that there would be a solution for the ever present communication issues. I don't even see a light at the end of the...
I don't post often, but I feel the need to in this instance. Gary has designed, built and provided ongoing support for multiple items I have purchased from him. I have always paid the 100% deposit...
I purchased my PVC flanges (shown below) from Harington Industrial Plastics. A search for PVC Flange yields many sources. Amazon also has them in a Van Stone flange, as well as one piece.

check out the thread below before you use ball valves, there is a better solution. Ball valves will become problematic with repeated use. I can look tomorrow and let you know where I bought...
How about some photos and details on the software etc.? When was it purchased?
