The vac pump is for pod work, not flat table sheet goods. It is a small gast pump. I usually use 4 to 10 pods depending on the piece. Machine was used mainly for 3D carving so as is sits now, I...
I forgot to add, it does also have an air drill attached, though I've never used it. Sorry for the dusty pics but it's always in use.

Dave,
It was a bad cable or the sensor. My partner switched the input at the board and got the same error so he ordered a new limit sensor and cable from SB, just installed it and all is well.

Had issues with this for quite awhile now and input 3 will not turn green, it is yellow. Usually if I drive the tool around the table for a bit (from the keyboard), the light goes to green.
Also...
I do not use aspire but it is similar to artcam (I think).
To make your part. Draw a 12" circle and a 9" circle and center them on each other. Draw your profile from the scan (is should be 1...
B,
On high res or low simulation, the model machines correctly.
Tolerance is set a .001 (same setting I use on higher end carving as well).
I run a feed rate of 4.8 with an rpm of 16000. ...
Gene,
What does pp mean? The machine output file is: Shopbot arcs(inch)(Speed)(*.sbp)
Nothing gets changed during the transfer. Artcam imports the DWG directly and once in the software if I zoom in on the vector, they are perfect arcs (start point, center or point of arc, end point)....
Jack,
There are no straight vectors. I draw any / all vectors in AutoCad as tangical arcs and import them into Artcam.
Roy,
The tool is not bottoming out. Also the cut depth is not the issue, it is following a 3d profile, extruded from a 2d vector. I do these all the time and it just started doing this within...
Milling some exterior corbels for a house. For some reason my SB is milling a flat space at the bottom of the curves / arch. Have noticed this before but usually just sand them out. Only mills the...
forgot to mention.
I run XP sp3.
On the 3.6.44 the firmware version shows 1.62
when 3.8.8 was loaded, the firmware showed 1.74.
The tech guys said that the newest firmware was 2.??...
As stated before I've had problems with the new software.

I've had serious issues with 3.8.6. Today, I'll reload 3.6.44 and run the same file which was messed up by 3.8.6 (9.5 hr file). I'll let you know if it does the same thing.
My bot does the same...
Have been using my SB for 3D Carving and signage.
Some of the carving files are 5 - 7 hrs long. The machine will start off carving fine, for a little while (1 - 3 hrs), then I run into...
I do similar 3D stuff and am having an issue with the proper settings for the 3D work. Recently reloaded the software and lost my configuration. (posted a help request tonight on this forum). Can...
Recently upgraded to the new software, machine had too many issues so I reloaded the older one 3.6.44.
Carving my 1st relief with the reloaded software, the machine is banging all over the place...
R,
Usually it's just 3/4" or 1" material, typically free form geometric designs. I usually go about 1/4" per pass with about .03" offset from the part then a full depth final pass cleaning up the...
We have a 48 x 96 PRS with the 2.2 hp spindle, ER 25 collets. Typically I use a 1/2" 2 flute chipbreaker / finisher for most hardwoods using multiple passes with a final clean up pass.
Will the...
Thanks Brady,
Between you three, I think I finally have it figured out. Your post cleared up the attach from the bottom thing I wasn't clear on. When the plenum is glued to the plywood base that...
Looks like a great setup David. I try that approach.
What is brown backer laminate? (I really never work with sheet goods so sorry to ask). To laminate the two sheets to the plywood you put it...
Cut the female then the male proud is the way I would do it. I have never v-carved but have done something similar on a 3D relief. Just make sure your female depth is deeper than the curve when you...
