How long will u be staying Bill, you could catch Hair of the Dog twice on St Paddys day :)
Maybe its me. i just see metal milling videos that have different moves than wood milling and I wondered if it was SW specific.
He was robbed, that would be good for cutting foam possibly.
I've been watching a lot of metal cutting work and the tool path is quite a bit different than in general on a ShopBot or can be easily created in PW. Is anyone using Meshcam and could tell me their...
Do they still make 60x96, I'd get that as you'll likely come across work for Baltic birch.
Can meshcam output .sbp or are you using the gcode emulator?

I've been making some lately. These are Purple Heart and Ash.
Pressure foot from Widgetworks perhaps?
If I was going to buy a Chinese laser I'd definitely go for a rabbit. Ray is a gent and helped me out tremendously even though I had a different machine. I had great fun with tech support from China...
Love my Blue machine. These are straight off the machine. 10x10 x.25 5053. I expected it to give me trouble as the alloy wasn't my choice. Cut like a charm though. As usual thanks to Gary Campbell...
Nice job there. DC is a must isn't it. I cut a lot of metal and can't use it so it snows very hot aluminum chips all over the place, in your shoes, down your shirt...
Don't think you can use the dust collector, but it's excellent. I've cut a lot of .25 inch HDPE in really small dimensions that I couldn't believe worked out so well.
Are there any shopbotters in Brasilia - DF?
Indeed Brady & Gary, Im having a renewed love affair with cutting aluminium : ). Garys build is awesome and thank you Brady for your immeasurable assistance too. Both of these guys knowledge is...
Great to hear from you Robert, and yes after owning a pool I totally agree with you. Glad to back on the forum and on the machine too.
Id like to say it was me, but it was Garys extremely well built Shopbot, well that and the right bit, feed and speed. 30 thou. passes, 15k rpm, 1&1 IPS, coolant mister and this bit: or similar. The...
Not to worry Gary, she is a beauty, I like her before but I'm so impressed with the rigidity and mass of the machine. I look forward to cutting aluminum now, not how it used to be :). I'm in love...
Tis the season Monty :)
Hello all, I've been out of the game for a while after I sold my PRS120 but I bought Gary Campbell's linear rail Shopbot. It's been a trial to remember all I forgot but it's coming back to me now....
Engrave some plates and epoxy them. Would that be safe?
I would like to build a vac system with a "gast" type pump al la Joe Woodworker and using Brady's coroplast I think it would be a way cheaper alternative to the Ibagna-NA system. What I'm curious is...
I inch 6061.
No, spoil board only, plan on doing mostly aluminum with a misting system, that's why I though of a plastic - very hard poly foam material that would be impervious to moisture but would have some of...
Rob, I have one of the Lowes Kobalt ones on casters , just the lower unit but the wheels, locks and drawer slides and shell is built like a tank, albeit an Aluminium one :). I love it. N
