I wonder if after all these years the powder coating has worn off where it's been hitting, or something else has worn so that it's now making a connection when it vibrates?

Just an FYI, but a 90 deg bit cutting full depth in one pass in 3/4" material is removing the same amount of material as a 3/4" endmill cutting full depth in one pass! And because much more of a...
I think I figured it out. It appears that it's parsing the trailing "if" in your variable name as a second IF statement. Changing your variable name from "&ZZeroPDif" to "&ZZeroPDf" or "&ZZeroPDiff"...
I haven't tested all the different possibilities, but if you want to have two tests I think your original tests work if you put the variable name in (), like the example below. Not sure why yet.

This doesn't answer your <> question...we'll look into that...but try replacing your 2 tests with the command below that uses the ABS command to get the Absolute Value of your variable and see if...
Along with the Safe Z setting in the ShopBot software that Scott pointed out, if you use VCarve or Aspire there are some z-axis settings in the "Material Setup" section at the top of the Toolpath...
You can use either the MS or VS command, with the B-axis speed that you want in the 4th place after the XY, Z, and A axis values. So if you want to set the B axis speed at 50 degrees/sec using the MS...
Is that at the start point of the cut for those letters? If you don't ramp into the cut you can sometimes get a divot and then bump when the bit plunges and then starts cutting, as the cutting force...

Does it actually cut in the wrong place, or does the Preview just look weird? The ShopBot previewer doesn't know anything about your blank size etc so just bases it off of the file.
Try...
My understanding from the original post was not if you should cut steel, but if it was possible. ShopBot certainly does not recommend, support, or advertise that ShopBots will cut steel, but Jens...

Just a quick reminder that we have several Camps coming up in September and October.
The Camp at Maker Works in Ann Arbor Michigan is in less that 2 weeks on Sept 23rd, with the Austin Texas Camp...
Electric Herald is a good resource for free guitar files and files for sale. These are the ones they have for Les Pauls

All those custom cuts are editable but be careful. That whole system of custom cuts does a lot of things, including turning the spindle on at the start of the file and letting you re-zero the during...
That tool number limitation is not within the ShopBot software, but depends on how the Post is written and what macros it calls. Don't know how the Fusion posts work but with the Vectric TC posts, if...
Hi all,
We've got new camps scheduled for this Fall so get your calendars out!
*) Sept 23rd we return to one of our favorite camp locations, Maker Works in Ann Arbor Michigan.
*) On Oct...
I think it's unlikely since the Keypad has focus when it's open...all file execution stops until it's closed and focus goes back to SB3. My guess is that it would have to be wrapped in a windows...
If you generally do cutting with just one bit...or create a separate toolpath for each bit...you might look at the simplified post processors like the Arc-inch or Arc-MM. They don't look at bit...
I don't know of any way to do it automagically in the ShopBot software, but I wonder if it could be done with a Windows Shell script? Create a folder and put the default config file in it, then have...
Just a quick reminder for those of you attending the campo this Saturday. Don't forget to bring samples and things you've done for Show-and-Tell. It looks like it's going to be a great turnout and...
As promised, here's a bit more info on the ShopBot Camp at NextFab in Philadelphia on May 20th.
As always the camps are free to attend, but ask that you sign up so that we know how much food to...
Hi all,
Just a quick "put it on your calendar" notice. NextFab will be hosting a ShopBot Camp at their North Philly location on May 20th. More details will follow, but as always these camps are...
I don't know if they will work for you, but Wacom support lists a couple for that tablet. Search for your model at https://www.wacom.com/en-us/support/product-support/drivers
I am not by any means a Fusion or 5-axis pro, but my understanding is that currently anything over 3 axis requires a paid subscription for Fusion. The regular paid subscription lets you do 3+2...
