Yes, then used a 1/4" round over to outline it all.
This is a sample I cut out for a local church. Thia is out of pine, going to do one out of oak and cherry so they can decide on material. Measures 3 1/2" square x 3/4" thick.

Did some searching of the forum where others have done this, I remember at one time someone posted picture of them drawing with a sharpie.

Just a thought, chuck up a "sharpie", eyeball to where it just touchs the wood for zzero. then run the file with out any z movements and see how it looks.

This is what works for me. I use region to see if it is already a closed object, V carve does not accept regions. If not closed I used pedit to find bad points then fix from there.
